Quality, innovation, safety

The pillars of development at Colmar

Innovation, quality and the pursuit of increasingly high performance are crucial elements in the development of Colmar's products. The collaboration with professional athletes, who the company works closely with to gather advice, feedback and ideas, has enabled Colmar to develop the attitude to win challenges. The commitment to continuous improvement is at the basis of its success and over time the Company has become a benchmark for technical and sportswear.

New solutions for every need, between competition and lifestyle

Colmar is constantly committed to searching for new solutions that, on the one hand, allow its athletes to be more and more competitive and high-performing, and on the other hand ensure attention to customers' needs. Every detail counts, which is why Colmar controls all the main materials (fabrics and paddings) used to make its garments through internal and external laboratories, not only during the prototyping phase, but also during production.

Product control at all stages

Colmar requires each supplier to sign a Technical Compliance Specification. This document establishes strict requirements that suppliers must comply with in terms of quality, safety and sustainability. Through the signing of the specification by all suppliers, the Company ensures that every phase of the production process, from the selection of raw materials to the creation of the finished product, is in line with its standards and principles. Furthermore, although the suppliers are textile-clothing sector companies with proven experience with whom Colmar has long-term consolidated business relationships, the Company operates scrupulous control over products, both during the production phase and before distribution.

Safety, above all

The responsible management of chemical substances is a priority within the textile sector. For this reason, Colmar has clearly indicated in the Technical Compliance Specification the substances and quantities that can be used during the production process, in order to scrupulously comply with EU regulations on the matter (Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals - REACH). Starting from 2024, Colmar has decided to go beyond the simple compliance with current regulations, favoring materials with specific certifications relating to chemical safety issued by independent organizations, and asking qualified laboratories to carry out specific tests on a sample basis on materials lacking such documentation.

Traceability

The importance of traceability

Traceability is the process that allows monitoring the journey of a product from raw material to finished product. It is fundamental to guarantee safety and quality and improves companies' transparency and reliability towards their customers, contributing both to monitoring a product's impacts as well as to mitigating the risks associated with it, such as counterfeiting.

RFID technology

In order to enhance the traceability and identification of its garments along the supply chain, Colmar has adopted RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. RFID tags are associated with garments through labels that allow their traceability up to the production batch, guaranteeing complete transparency of the different stages. This technology provides valuable information on the origin of materials, their composition, production processes and the degree of recyclability of each product.

EcoDesign

Innovation and Sustainability of Materials

Leveraging new technologies is essential both to improve product quality and to promote solutions with lower environmental impact through innovative processes and materials. In 2024, Colmar established an Eco-Design Practices Adoption Policy, acknowledging that the continuous research and development of more environmentally sustainable products and processes represents a crucial activity for protecting natural resources and ecosystem functionality. Over the years, Colmar has committed to limiting the construction of physical garments, favoring digital 3D product modeling, with the consequent reduction in raw material and energy consumption. Starting from FW2020 season, the Company has also undertaken a research and development path for the use of fabrics with lower environmental impact, with particular attention to fabrics derived from recycling, and in 2025 achieved Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification.
